The Academy for Implant Mastery (AIM Education) recently ran our Soft
Tissue Grafting for the Beginner course for the second time, to another
great success!
This 1 day course took place in Adelaide to a packed house of eager
dental professionals. The day began with our experienced instructor, Dr
Steve Soukoulis, giving a series of insightful and educational lectures that
invited conversations and discussions with the participants.
Topics of the lectures included; principles of predictable soft tissue grafting, harvesting
techniques for autogenous tissues, post-operative management and
complications and how to manage them.
After the lecture series was completed, the late morning and afternoon
included practical components utilising pig jaws. During the hands-on
sessions, Dr Soukoulis showcased step by step techniques for the
participants to learn including lateral sliding flaps, coronally advanced
flaps for single and multiple teeth recession defects, and tunnel graft
techniques.
All of the attendees had 1 on 1 assistance with Dr Soukoulis to improve
their skills, and all definitely left with much better understandings and skill
sets required to tackle recession defects in their patients.
Prior to the course, all attendees were added to a WhatsApp group chat
which will be used indefinitely to allow participants to contact their
lecturer with any future cases, where they can showcase their newly
learnt skills or ask any follow up questions regarding their cases. This is an
invaluable way for our attendees to improve their competency in implant
related dentistry.
This dental course provided the attendees with 8 CPD points. Due to the
popularity of this course, AIM Education will definitely be running this
again in 2024! In the meantime, AIM also has an upcoming 2 day Hard
and Soft Tissue Grafting course scheduled for the 13th and 14th October, in
Brisbane QLD later in 2023! Check out our website for booking details for
this course, including an early bird discount.
This course was graciously sponsored by Biohorizons Camlog Australia,
with participants able to purchase a variety of materials with Biohorizons
